Polycarbonate is a lightweight shatter resistant plastic that is 250x stronger than glass and because of its durability, longevity and performance is considered a better alternative.

It is very tough and versatile which makes it a great option for building and DIY projects and its strength makes it great for protective screens, armoured vehicles and windows

Its ability to absorb heat means it is a good material for greenhouses and can be used in homes for its energy efficiency.

Polycarbonate doesn’t burn and can be melted to its melting point, cooled and recycled. This allows it to be melted and injection moulded for further use.

It is not scratch resistant, but this can be resolved by polishing and with good care can last about 10 years.
